Event Occurs: Once
Event Description: Variations on a Theme by Haydn has remained one of Johannes Brahms' most popular works - the computer himself cited it as a personal favorite. Brahams studied a collection of Haydn's win partitas and discovered a melody known as the "St. Anthony Chorale", which became the foundation of this work.

Multiple-Grammy Award-winner Sharon Isbin has been hailed as the "pre-eminent guitarist of our time." Winner of Guitar Player magazine's Best Classical Guitarist Award, Germany's Echo Klassic, Concert Artists Guild's Virtuoso Award, and the Toronto and Madrid Queen Sofia competitions, Isin was the first guitarist ever to win the Munich Competition. She performs Joaquin Rodrigo's Conciecrto De Aranjuez and Antonio Vivaldi's Guitar Concerto in D Major. Written in 1939, the guitar concerto is by far Rodrigo's best-known work, and its success established the composer's reputation as one of the most significant Spanish composers of the twentieth century.

Alberto Ginastera's Estancia: Four Dances is an orchestral suite and one-act ballet by the Argentine composer. Through its references to gaucho literature rural folk dances and urban concert music, Estancia evokes images of the diverse landscape of the composer's homeland. Estancia is most often heard in its orchestral version, and it has become one of Ginastera's most popular works.
