|Event Name:||Joye In Aiken 2020: Decoda - After Hours at The Willcox|
|Event Description:||In a Festival first, we present chamber music in the relaxed after-hours setting of the Willcox lobby. Following directly after the St. Lawrence String Quartet concert (and possibly including guest appearances by members of that ensemble), this free event will give attendees the opportunity to immerse themselves in two back-to-back, world-class experiences in the genre. It will also be a chance to hear and appreciate the supremely accomplished Decoda musicians who will be performing A Fiddler's Tale later in the week. The Affiliate Ensemble of Carnegie Hall, Decoda is a collective of "some of the brightest young classical musicians in the world" (Time Out NY). The members performing here will be on violin, double bass, clarinet, bassoon, trombone and percussion.
Joye in Aiken is a nonprofit organization dedicated to making the best in the performing arts available to our citizens, and especially our students. In 2016, Joye was awarded the Elizabeth O'Neill Verner Award (South Carolina's highest honor in the arts) for its Educational Outreach Program. Several events held thorough out Aiken during this festival.
