|Event Name:||Cancelled Wings and Things|
|Event Description:||Meet at the Kathwood Ponds at Silver Bluff for our annual ‘Wings and Things’ naturalist walk. We will drive and walk various areas looking for early spring specialties such as Sely’s Sundragon (dragonfly), Manteld Baskettail (dragonfly) and other early specialty dragonflies as well as Goatweed Leafwing (butterfly), Yucca Giant-skipper (butterfly) and other spring butterflies. Bring a lunch if you want to continue into the afternoon.
Augusta-Aiken Audubon's field trips are open at no charge to all chapter members and the public. We encourage everyone to come out and join us.
Some tips to make the trips more comfortable: bring a hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, and drinking water. Sturdy walking shoes are recommended as is having rain-gear nearby.
Morning trips in fall and in spring usually begin at 8 am and end around noon. Winter trips usually begin at 9:00 am and end around noon. Summer filed trips during the hot weather usually begin at 8 am and end around 11 am.
Other Field Trips include:
February 7 - American Woodcock
February 8 - Silver Bluff Quail Trails
April 4 - Wings and Things
