Event Name: | Audubon: Field Trip |
Event Occurs: | Once |
Event Description: | Crackerneck 8am Crackerneck WMA is located on the edge of the Savannah River Site in Jackson and is acres and acres of woods, ponds and Three Runs Creek. We will drive around various places looking for birds and bugs primarily. This may end up being an all day thing so bring snacks and lunch just in case. If we get back to Three Runs Creek (very likely) it can take 30 minutes to drive back to the exit. Augusta-Aiken Audubon's field trips are open at no charge to all chapter members and the public. We encourage everyone to come out and join us. Some tips to make the trips more comfortable: bring a hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, and drinking water. Sturdy walking shoes are recommended as is having rain-gear nearby. Morning trips in fall and in spring usually begin at 8 am and end around noon. Winter trips usually begin at 9:00 am and end around noon. Summer field trips during the hot weather usually begin at 8 am and end around 11 am. Please confirm with Lois at 803.215.1594 or birdercroakie@gmail.com if you will be attending the trip. If no one confirms, the trip may be cancelled without notice. Other Field Trips include: February 19 March 12 March 19 April 16 Mary 21 |
