Event Description: | The Aiken County Historical Museum will be hosting three Summer HOT Lectures (History On Tap). On Tuesday, June 14th, David M. Tavernier will present "Famous Winter Colony Visitors You've Never Heard Of". While many winter colony visitors were nationally and internationally known for their wealth and business associations, there were others who were famous in their fields of endeavor, philanthropy and leisure pursuits, who also possessed great wealth. The lecture will profile a number of those individuals, and their connection to Aiken during the winter colony years. The Summer HOT Lectures will take place on the Museum grounds or inside the Museum Ballroom (weather depending). Tickets are $30 for each lecture and include dinner provided by Blue Collard Catering along with beer and wine. Each Summer HOT event begins at 6 pm with dinner and the talk will follow at 6:30 pm. The Summer HOT Lecture Series is scheduled for June 14, July 12 and August 16. |
