| Event Description: | Happy New Year! Let's start your New Year's resolution out on the right foot and hit a State Park trail. Join a ranger at Battle of Rivers Bridge State Historic Site and walk in the footsteps of Civil War soldiers. Take an easy 1-mile hike on the Battlefield Trail. See the natural beauty of the Salkahatchie Swamp and hear how the soldiers endured bad weather during battle that took place in February 1865. We'll hope for beautiful weather, but if it's a little nasty, come out anyway. Meet at the park office. Be sure to wear appropriate clothing for the weather, close-toed shoes and to bring water.
