| Event Description: | The Aiken County Historical Society Fall General Meeting will be held on Sunday, September 17th, 3 pm, at the Aiken County Historical Museum. The program will feature Rick Wise, organizer of the Camden Burials. The Revolutionary War Battle of Camden occurred in 1781. Recently, the shallow graves of 13 Patriot soldiers were discovered. The Camden Burials honored the 13 Patriots, provided a funeral ceremony and interment. The Camden Burials was the largest historical event since the discovery of the Hunley in Charleston Harbor. Mr. Wise will discuss the 13 Patriot soldiers and the Battle of Camden. A reception will be held at the end of the program. The meeting is free and open to the public. |
