Event Description: | The Friends of the Aiken County Historical Museum present the 2024 Winter Lecture Series, History of Aiken County. Lectures begin at 3pm, Sundays February 4 - March 10. $15/lecture or $60 for the series. Seating is limited, registration is required. Topics include: Feb. 4th: Tom French & Keith Stephenson discuss The Inclined Plane - Connecting Aiken County to the Railroad System. Feb. 11: John Felak talks about the Football Greats of Aiken County. Feb. 18: Velma & Andrew Fallaw will talk about Aiken as 'The Asparagus Capital of the World.' Feb. 25: Bob Bonnet will present The History & Legacy of Savannah River Site. Mar. 3: Marty Bailey tells the story of Redcliffe Plantation Mar. 10: Lauren Virgo discusses The Founding of Aiken County. |
