Event Description: | The University of South Carolina Aiken presents a new community series, "Aiken in the Alley". Sponsored by the university's College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, "Aiken in the Alley" features lectures, conversations and music on select Thursdays at 11am from Feb 8 through April 18. One notable exception will be Dr. Doug Higbee's presentation on February 22nd, scheduled for 4pm. Thursday, February 8 | 11am-12pm A Musical Theatre Revue with Keely Rhodes, Megan Rich, and Paul Crook Thursday, February 22 | 4pm-5pm Professor of English, Doug Higbee, "Shakespeare, Brave New World, and Punk Rock" Thursday, March 14 | 11am-12pm Assistant Professor of English, Amanda Warren, "Old Time True Crime: Appalachian Murder Ballads" Thursday, March 28 | 11am-12pm Senior Instructor of History, Alexia Helsley, "A Boy, a Girl, and a Train: Remembering Pat Conroy" Thursday, April 18 | 11am-12pm Associate Professor of Political Science, Sarah Young, "School Tax Matters: Understanding Act 388" For more information, call (803) 641-3784.
