| Event Description: | **Update: Due to ongoing recovery efforts as a result of Hurricane Helene, this event has been canceled.** Join Battle of Rivers Bridge State Historic Site for a fun, free, educational day. See the original trenches and earthworks and learn all about the Battle of Rivers Bridge. Meet at the Park Office at 9:30am for a free Ranger led tour of the battlefield. The tour will conclude in the Memorial grounds where living historians from the Palmetto Rifleman & New York Zouaves will be portraying Soldiers of the 5th Georgia reserves. Multiple stations featuring Civil War Camp life, music, cooking, arms, equipment, tactics and drill will be setup for you to explore from 11am - 5pm. There will be no firing during this event, making it great for those with noise sensitivities. All ages welcome. Bring water, insect repellent, weather appropriate clothing and comfortable walking shoes. |
