| Event Description: | **Update: Due to inclement weather, the event has been postponed until Spring 2025.** On March 12, 2022, Peggy Kirkland received the Order of the Palmetto for her dedication to community service. To honor her legacy, the South Carolina Regional Housing Authority No. 3 is hosting the Peggy Kirkland Community Services Memorial 5K Walk/Run in Bamberg, SC. The event will also recognize the Walking with Ease participants who have recently graduated from the program. 8:30 AM - 10:30 AM | Sign-In 10:00 AM | Welcome Robert Thomas, Executive Director of the South Carolina Regional Housing Authority No.3, 10:10 AM - 10:30 AM | Graduation for Walk with Ease Participants Participants in the Walking with Ease program will celebrate their achievements during a special graduation ceremony, marking their commitment to health and well-being. 10:30 AM - 10:50 AM | Reflection of Peggy Kirkland 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM | Walk/Run Two-hour limit on the race, no exceptions 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM | Cookout & Resource Fair Enjoy food while connecting with valuable community resources. The run will conclude with a Resource Fair at River Birch Golf Course, featuring services from local organizations. Runners who register by November 1st will receive a Free FoodShare box from Bamberg County FoodShare, available at the post-race cookout and fair.
