| Event Description: | Bring in the New Year with us at Aiken State Park as we lead an EXCLUSIVE hike in Compartment C of the park. This portion of the park is not currently open to the public, but you will have the opportunity to see and hear what makes this area important in our resource management practices. You will want to be on the lookout for red-cockaded woodpeckers or even a fox squirrel! Be sure to bring water, binoculars, camera, closed toe shoes, and dress for the weather. Pets are welcome and must be on a 6ft leash at all times. No strollers or wagons - trail is too rough. Details: 1.5-mile hike - moderate Meet at the Picnic Area parking lot.
