Description: This 210- acre county park was formerly the Savannah River Site's employee recreation facility. Boyd Pond Park is heavily wooded creating a cool canopy with two ball fields, two soccer fields, two miles of hiking trails, 18-hole disc golf course, eight miles of mountain bike trails, six shelters, picnic areas, playground, restrooms and a 30-acre fishing pond with a 300ft boardwalk. A boat ramp is available to the public free of charge (no gas motors permitted). The park is open daily dawn until dusk.
Also on site is the Boyd Observatory which opens the 1st & 3rd Saturday evenings at dark.
