| Description: State Historic Site. Off of SC 641, 7 miles SW of Ehrhardt, 13 miles from Allendale. At this site, Union troops clashed with Confederate soldiers defending the Salkehatchie River. Battle of Rivers Bridge State Historic Site features the battlefield, an award-winning battlefield interpretive trail, memorial grounds, a community building and picnic shelter. Activities include self-guided tours and picnicking. Tours, seminars and programs throughout the year. |
